This Privacy Policy explains how Hebbix ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit hebbix.app or use the Hebbix application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
We collect the minimum data we need to operate the Service:
- Account information — the email address, username, and password you provide when you create an account.
- Usage information — the topics you select, the books you read, your quiz attempts, scenarios completed, XP, streak, and similar progress data.
- Conversations with the AI mentor — messages you send to the mentor and the responses generated, used to provide and improve the feature.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and basic analytics events such as page views and feature usage.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to Hebbix Pro, payments are processed by our payment processor; we receive a confirmation and the last four digits of your card but do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use information
- To provide and personalize the Service, including reading recommendations and progress tracking.
- To operate the AI mentor and improve the quality of its responses.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
- To communicate with you about account, security, and product updates.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of vendors to deliver the Service. These providers may process limited personal data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it:
- Cloud hosting and database providers.
- An AI provider (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) for the AI mentor feature.
- A payment processor for Hebbix Pro subscriptions.
- Analytics and error-monitoring tools.
- The Amazon Services LLC Associates Program for affiliate book links.
4. Affiliate links
Hebbix is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click a book link on Hebbix and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We do not change the price you pay.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the Service is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not work without them.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal, accounting, or security reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@hebbix.app.
8. Children's privacy
Hebbix is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access Hebbix from outside the US, you understand that your information will be processed in the US, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
